Glennaire Nursery Workshop

Sponge Tree also deliver workshops to Glennaire Nursery, as part of the Baildon Children's Centre's outreach programme. Sponge Tree try to link in with each early years current theme. This theme was 'Water, water everywhere' and Sponge Tree came up with the idea of letting under fives create their own rain sticks form recycled materials. The results were fantastic and the children loved creating along side their parents or carers.

Spring has almost sprung!

Come with me

Come with me - Oh, come + see!
There are blossoms on the cherry tree,
And though the oak tree is dark + bare,
A pair of robins are nesting there;
And any minute the willows mean
To burst out in leaf-their tips are green
So come along Oh, come with me-
It’s spring again + there’s lots to see!

Yellow daffodils

We know parents + carers really enjoyed helping to create their recycled garden daffodils this Wednesday. These daffodils made from scrap materials will brighten up any garden. If you want to make these at home please remember that all materials used need to be weather proof!

Dads Willow making workshop at Baildon Children's Centre.

Sponge Tree and 5 dads still managed to carry out this workshop, despite the snow. Yes it was cold and we all had to take breaks from tying the willow, as our hands got a little bit cold. But the end results were definitely worth it! We really hope these willow structures root well and grow well, as they will become a fantastic den for children to play in at the children's centre.

We Just love the pussy willows

Children love to pretend these delightful flowers are tiny little creatures. Our children like to create a special home for them and treat them like pets. They are so soft and we love to stroke them in our fingers.

Getting ready for our new GREEN under 5's workshop

Lovely spring green buds collected for the children to take home. If you store the buds in water they will open into leaves or flowers within a week.
All the snowdrops are in full bloom and how gorgeous they are with their tiny little white nodding heads.
Can you spot the small green shoots of the crocus family, waiting to fire out their fabulous colours of yellow and purple?
